How Many Inside? app for iPhone and iPad

Ever wanted to guess how many marbles were inside a jar or box? Want to be close enough to really have a chance at winning a prize when you see those contests? Well, this is a great tool to get you closer to getting the right answer.

Version 1 of this app starts with allowing you to enter the dimensions of a cylindrical jar (normal jar), OR a box, and the size of the marble / ball / sphere inside. You then have to somewhat guess at how much "void space" is inside. The app gives you some suggestions so you can make an informed guess for sure. Slide the slider bar back and forth for the suggestions to pop up and tell you about the balls inside and how tightly packed they are, and as a result, you can get a closer answer.

Not sure how big the balls are inside? Never fear, one of the pages (see screen shots) has some circles of different sizes on it so you can compare next to the jar, and then input a really good guess. What about the jar? Well, Ive put in a ruler on that same tab with 2 inches on it so you can try and figure that out as well.

Future versions of this app will allow you to select from different types of shapes for the fill material (e.g. instead of balls or spheres, you can put in a type of popular candy, or other popular fill materials). Also planned for future developments is the kind of container it can be in (e.g., a 1 gallon jug that used to hold milk).
